Bell

Simple. Classic. Necessary. Even if the cyclist already has one on their bike, there’s nothing wrong with getting them an upgrade. With lots of cute shapes, colors & patterns available there’s certainly something for everyone.
Bottle Cage

Everything I just wrote about bike bells also goes for bottle cages. So many people pick something basic and functional, but there are so many stylish options out there that are also practical.

$25-$100

Knog Blinder Lights

“I think I have enough lights for my bike,” is something that no bike commuter has ever said. Lights go missing or get stolen easily so it’s always good to have a backup set. Plus more lights = more visibility, which is something every cyclist wants! We just got in these super cute ones from Knog that just came in that have cute shapes while still being super bright.

Basket

Riding with a backpack is one of the most cumbersome things ever, especially in the winter when you also have to wear bulky layers. Save someone the trouble of all that by getting them a basket to hold everything they have to carry to work with them.

$100+

Pocampo Cargo Pannier Backpack

This bag is worth a splurge. It can be either a backpack or pannier depending on how you have it configured, which makes it super versatile. It’s super big, so nothing has to get left behind. Plus it has a built-in rain cover which can keep the snow out of any electronics that could be easily damaged by getting wet.

Ethos Mips Helmet

Looking for a helmet that does it all? Look no further! Not only does this helmet protect your noggin from collisions, but it also has lights built into it so that cars will notice the rider from any direction. If that wasn’t enough to make this helmet perfect for commuters, it also has turn signals that light up! The turn signals are controlled by the touch of a button in a remote that attaches to the handlebars.

Chamois Cream

This cream will go a long way in making long rides or trainer sessions more comfortable by preventing chafing. It will also soothe any soreness after any kind of irritation, which makes it a great gift for anyone spending lots of hours with their butt in the saddle.

Kids like to find candy in their stocking. Cyclists like to find electrolyte gels. Proper nutrition is the fuel any cyclist needs to go fast and to put lots of miles on their bike but we can go through it pretty quickly at the height of training. Grab a couple energy bars or drink powders to help the cyclist in your life power through their races!

$25-$100

Carbon Bottle Cage

A carbon bottle cage is the best kind of gift – it can be difficult to justify buying an expensive bottle cage for yourself, but every racer secretly wants one since they are sooooo lightweight. They’re also available in lots of colors so you can be sure to buy one that matches any bike!

Cycling Gloves

Cyclists can never have too many gloves so you don’t have to worry about them already having a pair. Gloves made for cycling have extra padding in the palms to make for an extra comfortable ride. If the cyclist you love is spending hours on the trainer or going for long rides, a nice pair of gloves will make that time more enjoyable.

Big Ticket Bike:

Bianchi Sprint or Liv Langma

Any cyclist that races is probably on the lookout for the latest and greatest upgrade to their current racing bike, which makes the following two bikes a great option for someone looking to have the best cycling technology to race on. Limited sizes are available so be sure to call in or stop by the shop to see our inventory.

What sets the Bianchi Sprint apart from the other road bikes we have in stock is not just its slick, carbon, racing frame, but also the SRAM Etap that the bike is stocked with. This is the electronic shifting system from SRAM that makes for quick & responsive shifting without the hassle of cables since it is totally wireless. Plus this bike is painted with the iconic Bianchi Celeste color that will totally stand out from the rest of the pack as you break away on a sprint.

The Liv Langma Advanced uses carbon as its frame material making it ultra-light & comes stocked with Shimano 105 groupset, which is perfect for anyone wanting efficient shifting without totally breaking the bank. This bike is built to make any rider more efficient so that they are set up to win any race they sign up for!

Gifts for the Girlboss Gravellers, the Off-Road Kings, and Every Other Kind of Trailblazer.

$10-$25

Mini Pump

A mini pump is a great gift because they can be mounted directly to a bike frame so that the cyclist you love will never be stranded without a way to pump up their tires. Pumps come in lots of different styles & colors, so be sure to stop by the shop to pick out a practical gift that is also stylish.

 Cargo Net
When going on long bike-packing treks or just around the corner to the grocery store, a cargo net is exactly what’s needed to expand any bike’s carrying capacity. It can be used in conjunction with a basket or bag but also on its own by attaching directly to a rack already bolted onto the bike.

$25-$100

Dayblazer 1000 combo

This is the boldest and brightest light we have. When riding down unlit trails or setting up camp after the sun sets, having a bright light can make a world of difference. Plus the combo pack comes with a tail light so that you can be visible from any angle.

Fix a Flat kit

The worst nightmare for any cyclist is getting stuck on the side of the road. You can gift them the tools they need to get rolling again by giving them a fix-a-flat kit. These kits have everything needed to repair a flat tire and get rolling again.

If you’re feeling extra generous, you could also get them a spare tube. They’re only $9, but you should know what size tire they have on their bike. You can tell because all tires will have the size stamped on the side, the number will probably be something like 700 x __ or 26 x __. If you know that number & the type of valve, that’s all you need to know to get a spare.

$100+

Bicycle Anatomy & Physiology Course

One of the best gifts in the world is the gift of knowledge. Gift someone you love the knowledge of how to work on their own bike by signing them up for this 5-week-long course taught by our service manager. This course covers all the different systems on all kinds of bikes plus hands-on demonstrations on how to make minor adjustments on your own bike. This course will give anyone the confidence to go on unsupported adventures knowing that they support themselves.

Brooks Saddle

Brooks have been making saddles that have kept cyclists comfortable since the 1880s. Their leather saddles break in over time and mold to fit each rider perfectly. They also make saddles with vulcanized rubber that absorb vibrations from bumpy roads a bit better & have a shorter break-in period than their leather counterparts but don’t soften as much overall.

This saddle is perfect for the cyclist who wants to be comfortable on longer rides over any kind of terrain.

Big Ticket Bike:

Liv Devote Advanced 1 or Liv Tempt 1

In order to go on bike adventures, you need a bike that will go anywhere with you. When looking for a bike that will keep up with a rider who is undaunted by unpaved roads or technical trails, you have to make sure that the bike will be able to stand up to anything that gets in the way.

The Liv Devote Advanced 1 uses the SRAM Etap technology found on the Bianchi Sprint, but this bike gears its wireless shifting capabilities towards gravel making it ideal for long slow climbs on roads of any condition. Its carbon frame isn’t just lightweight, it also absorbs vibrations from bumps and potholes making for a smoother ride feel than other frame materials. This bike can go anywhere while keeping its rider comfortable, no matter the distance. The Devote Advanced also has a Be Good edition exclusive to this year. This model has all the bells and whistles you want on a gravel bike (GRX groupset, carbon frame, 700x38 tubeless tires, etc.) while also supporting Rebecca Rusch’s Be Good Foundation. This is a charity that strives to use the bike as a means to enrich communities through outdoor exploration, personal discovery and humanitarian service.

Whether the cyclist you love is itching to hit the pump track at Big Marsh or rough & hilly terrain at Palos, they’re going to want to do it on a mountain bike. The Liv Tempt 1 is a bike that flows downhill and makes steep climbs a breeze with a wide range of gears & a great suspension fork. If a trail has lots of boulders to avoid or trees to weave around, this is the bike to tackle it.
