Job Description

The key tasks and details are detailed below.
Customer Service
Provide excellent customer service with high energy positive attitude is #1 priority
Greet customers at the door. Welcome them enthusiastically
If they are walking in with a bike ask if they need service and direct them to back if so.
If they need to use a pump, ask if they need a hand.
Hold door for customers coming in/leaving with bikes
Tell customers about upcoming rides and events
Provide product information and demonstrate features and benefits
Assist with product demos and answer any questions or concerns
Put away test ride bikes and replace bikes on the floor when sold.
Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and industry trends
Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals
Take and record Special Order transactions according to procedures
Schedule tune-ups and shorts based on max per day schedule. Take deposit.
Call customers with an appointment 1-2 days before to remind them to bring their bike in the day before appointment. Include update in notes on work order with date and initials.
Check voicemails, emails and text messages (first thing in the morning)
Restock and organize sales floor
Sweep, clean bathroom, dust shelves, pump tires, dust bikes, keep the shop spic and span
Unpack and check in inventory deliveries. Which includes:
Checking packing list and physical inventory match initial and date packing slip
Input to POS, categorize and label all items for sales floor
Check if it is a special order call customer as needed
Check to make sure pricing hasn’t changed. If our cost goes up so does customer price. Use margin calculator
Check-in bikes for service when no mechanic is available
Call or text customers to pick up bikes after 1 week
Ensure all customer correspondence is noted in workorder
organize stock room - this is something that constantly needs to be done as inventory turns over
Check bikes on the floor are a range in size and style. Perform light maintenance on bikes on the floor: Pump up tires, remove test ride pedals, dust.
Perform weekly deep cleaning tasks
Take on-line training courses available from vendors
Marketing and Communications Activities (10-20% of time in season 40-50% of time off season)/shared or as needed
Monthly Newsletter Contributions and ideas
Facebook and IG ideas and updates as needed
Take new bike day photo and post #newbikeday
Update and help with website ideas
Write or assist with blog writing
Other marketing initiatives
Events and Rides
Assist in creating calendar of events on website
Lead rides and assist in coordination or other ride leadership
Lead monthly fix-a-flat clinic
Update event chalkboard everyday if needed. As soon as something is out of date, update..
Post events in meet-up evensi and dabble, WPB newsletter/website, rides
Administrative
Create PO’s for all orders
Take notes on things that need follow-up in the front desk notebook. Include date, time, next steps. Ensure to follow up if needed.
Ensure all inventory received has been categorized
Enter vendor invoices into quickbooks
Qualifications:
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport
Familiar or experience with Microsoft
Ability to post to social media accounts are a plus
Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus
Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems is an advantage
Ability to lift and move stock as needed
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
